Car receiver

Attributes and use cases for car receivers — a single vehicle, not a fleet.

Car receivers represent one vehicle the service is performed on. The product refers to this type as Car (not “vehicle” or “fleet”) because each receiver is a single unit — for example one car in for service, not a whole fleet record.

Typical uses

  • Automotive service bay or garage
  • Valet or handover appointments
  • Inspection or compliance visits tied to a registration

Common attributes

Depending on configuration, car receivers often store:

  • Make and model
  • Registration plate or VIN
  • Colour or year (optional)
  • Link to the owning customer profile

ServEase does not currently collect separate technician notes on car receivers in admin or portal forms.

Enable car receivers

Under Settings → General → Capabilities, ensure Car is enabled among receiver types.

How to add a car receiver

  1. Open Receivers or Customer detail → Receivers.
  2. Click Add receiverCar.
  3. Enter make, model, registration, and other configured fields.
  4. Save.

How to edit

Open receiver detail or edit from the list. See Manage receivers.
