Bookable resources

Book physical assets — vehicles, accommodation, rooms, and pitches — alongside your teams.

Bookable resources let you schedule physical assets — vehicles, accommodation, rooms, and pitches — alongside your existing teams. One resource represents one bookable unit, for example one car or one meeting room.

Team or resource — who delivers the service

A team is people who deliver a service; a resource is a physical asset that is booked. In the service wizard you choose how each service is provided: Provided by a Team, Provided by a Resource, or Provided by a Team and Resource when a booking needs both a person and a place. See Resource-based services.

What you can do

How availability is decided

A slot is offered only when every layer allows it:

  1. The resource's business hours and unavailable periods.
  2. The service schedule, when the service uses one.
  3. Existing bookings on that resource.
  4. The location rules on the service.

The words customers see

The people on a booking are called by the word that fits what you sell. By default a vehicle rental says Driver, an overnight stay says Guest, an appointment says Person, a group class says Participant, and a room rental says Customer. You can change these words:

  • For one service — in the service wizard, Basics → Customer terminology: choose a preset (Customers, Guests, Students, Patients, Members, Visitors) or Custom with a singular and a plural label.
  • For your whole business — Settings → Presentation labels: pick the language, the label group, and Customize labels. Reset to inherited default removes your change.

A service's own setting wins over your business-wide labels, and both win over the defaults. Custom words are shown exactly as you type them and are not translated. The booking pages, Customer Portal, booking widgets and booking emails all use the words that apply to that service, so if you rename drivers to Riders, customers read Riders.

The customer who pays is always the Customer; your vocabulary applies only to the people or things being booked. These help articles say "driver" and "guest" because those are the defaults.
