Pricing and payment terms

When customers pay — prepaid, postpaid after service, and subscriptions.

Each service defines how much customers pay (in Offer) and when they pay (payment terms).

Price vs payment terms

  • Price / pricing model — fixed, tiered, or quotation on the service or option (service options)
  • Payment terms — when money is collected relative to the appointment

Payment term types

TypeCustomer experience
Prepaid (full)Pay in full when booking (or before service), usually via gateway
Postpaid (full)Book now; charge or payment link after service is completed
SubscriptionRecurring billing for eligible services; bookings attach to an active subscription

A service may offer more than one term (e.g. prepaid and subscription). The customer or staff picks the term when creating the booking.

“Pay at the desk” or manual cash is not a separate payment term type — record those as manual payments on the booking after service. See Transactions and refunds.

Configuration

Create reusable terms under Settings → Payment Settings → Payment terms — see Payment terms.

In the wizard Offer step, open Payments and refunds:

  1. Add or select payment terms for the service.
  2. Enable payment methods (gateways and manual methods your tenant allows).
  3. Set refund rules where needed.

Online collection requires a configured payment gateway.

Subscriptions

Subscription terms link to booking series and recurring billing behavior. Customers may need an active subscription before booking certain services.
