Booking series and recurring
Difference between recurring booking series and subscription-style services.
ServEase supports two recurring patterns.
Booking series
A series generates multiple dated appointments from one setup:
- Weekly class, recurring maintenance, etc.
- Each occurrence is a booking with its own status
- Cancel one occurrence or the whole series
Create from Bookings → New series or when the service allows series booking in the portal.
Subscriptions
Subscription payment terms bill on a cycle (monthly membership):
- Linked to customer and service
- May auto-create bookings or entitlements depending on configuration
- Manage renewals and failed payments from customer billing views
Series = multiple appointments. Subscriptions = ongoing billing relationship. A service can use one or both concepts depending on how you configured the offer.
Staff actions
- Skip or cancel single series occurrence — see Booking detail or bulk actions in Series booking detail
- Pause subscription (when supported)
- Regenerate future occurrences after schedule change
